On 21 January, early in the morning Hayk Babajanyan, senior compulsory enforcement officer of Kotayk marz division of the Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service, was attacked.
An unknown person stabbed him four times by a cutting-pricking tool causing bodily injuries of different degrees of gravity. Hayk Babajanyan was transported to Yerevan in a grave condition, where he underwent surgery. In connection to the incident a criminal case was instituted in the Investigation Division of the Police of Kotayk marz upon Article 316(2) of the Criminal Code, i,e. violence dangerous to life or health against a representative of the authorities related to the performance of official duties thereby. It is worth mentioning that Hayk Babajanyan conducts - in the Service - enforcement proceedings relating to "Bjni" Mineral Water Factory» CJSC. The JACES does not exclude that the incident might be directly connected with the official duties of the compulsory enforcement officer. Moreover, the Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia points out that it will continue performing the functions reserved to it by law through showing principal approach to all economic entities without separating enforcement proceedings as to their amounts or participants involved.
